Individual Coaching

What does individual coaching look like?

While my individual coaching programs are informed by Brain-Based Coaching practices, coaching works best when co-designed and inter-connected. Programs can be face to face if you are in Adelaide, via online meeting platforms, a hybrid of both, and can be designed to compliment other learning and development activities.

‘Brain-Based Coaching […] empowers participants with research, experience, and practical tools to help them become more effective coaches. Participants learn the neuroscience behind insight-driven coaching conversations, goal setting, and habit building and graduates of the program have demonstrated their ability to plan and facilitate a professional coaching engagement.’

Brain-Based Coaching is:

  • Self-directed learning which ensures that the answers that are developed are yours,
  • Solutions-focused to guide us forward towards your desired outcome,
  • Uses positive feedback to encourage you and celebrate your achievements,
  • Stretches you which means that, with your permission, I will challenge you where it serves to enhance your learning and development,
  • Provides structure to offer us the best possible chance to stay on track and progress towards your desired outcomes.

While the Program we design will be tailored to suit you, a typical, structured, Brain-Based Coaching Program is a twelve-session program usually over 6 – 12 months.

Sessions one and two focus on goal setting, while sessions three through to eleven support progressing your goals, and session twelve offers us an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate your achievements.

Sessions are usually sixty minutes, but this is flexible, can be online or face to face and we can co-design other aspects if we agree they will positively contribute to the coaching experience and achieving your goals.

Adaptive Leadership approaches and practices will also be offered as additional tools depending on the work at hand. Adaptive Leadership practices are the foundation of the Group Coaching programs.

Getting Started

We meet and get to know each other.  We share our understanding and expectations of coaching and together we explore the elements of a potential program.

I’ll then design a bespoke program and prepare an agreement that will outline the details/logistics. We will be guided by, but not limited to the Brain-Based program.

Once this is signed off we kick off our program. Starting with activities that identify your motivations and uniqueness. Then we can work on your goals and designing an action plan.

We then meet regularly to track your experiences and progress. We use reflection and review tools  is to keep the program agile, responsive and focused on your needs.

We come together as partners to reflect on and review the coaching journey. We acknowledge and celebrate achievements and plan for the future.
